Engineering, the discipline and profession of applying technical, scientific and mathematical principles to realise commercial or other objectives, is used in many areas of life. From the roads we drive on, the cars we drive in, the phones we talk on, the MP3 players we listen to, or the houses we live in- engineering is a widely applicable discipline involving the design, construction, manufacture, and implementation of various machines, structures, systems, devices and processes. In fact, it is so broad that there are several different sub-disciplines within the profession of engineering.
The traditional branches of engineering are broken down into chemical, aerospace, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering. These refer to the design and implementation of chemical processing, aircraft and spacecraft, buildings and infrastructure, electrical systems and mechanical systems, respectively. With the development of technology over the last century, however, new branches have gained prominence. These include computer engineering, software engineering, nanotechnology, molecular engineering, mechatronics, etc. Computers and software are playing an increasingly important role in engineering, especially with the use of computer aided applications.

They also developed a continuous manufacturing process for a fire retardant material including mixing, pumping, extrusion, curing, cooling and cutting, and an automatic, pneumatic conveying system for ground glass and colouring agent for roof tile manufacture with weight control feeders.
